Post subject:  Mast Repair - Shortening? what are the repercussions

So I bought a used '97 Wave SE for a couple hundred and it looks like I will be at a grand and counting on replacement/missing parts.

The mast is damaged, so cut off the bottom 10 mm(3/8"), but just realized this will effect my forestay and shrouds lengths. Will this 3/8" make a difference? I assume I can make up the difference in the forestay with the 7 hole adjuster.

If the 3/8" makes a difference on the shrouds, what are my options? Raise the tang 10 mm? Replace the shrouds with Club versions and add adjusters? Anything else I am missing?

Should I sell what I have for parts and start over?

I would try to go with club shrouds with adjustments solution. Reasons:
1. Relatively cheap.
2. Reversible. If it won't work (it should:) ), you may return shrouds and try another solution.
3. Worth doing anyway, considering boat condition.
