Looks like they are a "composite" I have compression damage and a couple of small voids on some of my mast tops
Presume these are epoxy laminates and epoxy repairs are appropriate?
The Black Top Coat is to reduce UV damage
What is it so I can complete repairs
Thanks
They have been living on the beach without rig tension so I am sure they have rattled around in some of the storms

The comptip is fiberglass, I believe with polyester resin, but you can use epoxy for repairs and it will work fine, just be sure to use UV stabilized epoxy or paint the epoxy after finishing the repair. I actually recommend painting the entire comptip if it is going to be left out in the sun for extended periods, otherwise it will get fried by the sun. I use Home Depot spray paint to protect the mast on my beach boat. It works fine, but you may need to come back and touch it up every couple of years.
