I'd like to see that too! 
After seeing the performance improvement of simply adding a tiller extension, now I'm feeling the urge to take the next step, and add the traveller, for even more speed. (But I'm worried that now I'm undermining the simplicity of the Wave!) I asked the (new) Hobie dealer in town about the price, and they couldn't find it in the catalog. They were supposed to check into it and call me, but that's been a while now. |

Tell your dealer to look at page 24 of the cat, listed as "39250000 Club Wave Main Traveler kit", I think it lists for $208 Just never seen what they look like installed. As far as concern for messing w/ the simplicity, I think it is not that much of a concern. A traveller just adds to the versatiltiy, you don't need to use it if you don't want to (ie teaching a begginer). Now, if you add a spin kit, that is a different story.

it is on page 24 still in the new catalogs and price is now $215. Very easy install and looks "stock" when finished.

Thanks Brad! That does look good, like it was supposed to be that way! I've been trying to determine the best point of sail with my Wave. It seems like pointing up with the sail tight is fastest, but then I keep pinching. If I fall off, the sail spills so much off the top that I feel like it slows down (but I know a beam reach should be the fastest for a Hobie). The traveller should help keep the sail taut enough when I bear off to really get some speed! |

I have installed it and it works really well. I also installed a standard tiller extention on the new style plastic casting type rudders.. The kids really like The tiller extention. I'll post pictures the next time I sail it. |

I bought the tiller at my local dealer. It is a carbon extendable small boat tiller. The yoke is a tendon type, this feels mushy to me, I like the old metal tiller yoke, but this is how the little one came. Way over kill (carbon) and too expensive, but fun. I like it because it is light and easy for my kids to throw behind the mainsheet. When they break it, I will probably move to a fiberglass stock tiller -white, no extention. |

Just got the traveler kit in but haven't had a chance to install it. Stumped by another question though... Has anyone bought the Wave mast cradle setup? It is set up for trailering the mast in two pieces. No plans here to glue the mast pieces together. No problems either in putting the mast together and taking it apart. I hope to do a lot of hauling and don't want to worry about what's going on on the trailer behind me while rolling down the road. The Wave mast cradles look simple and secure. However, noticed that the comp tip plus Bob just barely makes it across the crossbars. Really don't want to take the Bob off to secure the mast on the cradles? Anyone used them? |

Hello, I have the traveler kit installed on my Wave and believe it is an absolute "must have" option. IT REALLY does make a significant difference. Concerning the Wave mast cradle: you will NOT be able to use it because it will not fit properly once you install the traveller track. You have to buy the Hobie Cat 16 cradle for proper fit. Note however, this does not allow you to break the mast down into two pieces. I trailer my Wave using the Hobie Cat 16 cradle and leave my mast together as one piece. |

I have an SE Wave, but am performing a mod to get rid of the velcro straps and replace with lacing posts like on the Getaway, freeing up the top of the crossbar. I ordered the parts, just have yet to pick them up. Traveller kit will need to wait this year though, have to many other expenses this summer. Definitely want the traveller option. We will see how the summer progresses. At any rate I will set to do it once I install the lacing posts. I will post my results once I do that mod. Exploring other possiblies to allow for future install if traveller kit, In the Sailboat Classifieds on this site, I placed a feeler for my SE tramp which I may sell. Rather than drilling all those holes to modifiy my rear crossbar for lacing posts, I am re-thinking and exploring the possibility of just getting a club version tramp instead.
