So I am having problems steering. With rudder down my boat wants to go to the left. Sometimes it will not turn right at all. I found that holding the rudder down line all the way out it steers better, and I know that older models had a cleat where you could secure the down line so that it stays pulled out. My boat doesnt have this. I can kind of tie it on the pocket netting but this is a poor way to secure it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Your kayak should have the rudder cleat part installed and here is the link to adjusting the rudder for centering, etc.

I had a similar problem even though I was using my cleat. The solution was so simple it was stupid. I'll post the solution,
