Hi,
It's my first post. I have been kayak fishing for a few years, but finally picked up an Outback for more serious fishing endevors. I love it. I've have been floating the Grand River (among others) in Michigan with great succuess for Bass, pike, and carp. Some of the carp have been over twenty pounds and smallmouth bass close to four pounds. I'm using mostly spin and fly gear for preadators and hair rigging for the carp. Getting drug around by these slimy beasts is pretty fun. Soon salmon will enter our rivers, and mayhem shall ensue. I'm still in the act of fully rigging my boat out and figure I'll be doing more bigwater trolling for salmonids and musky.

Anybody out here fish the Great Lakes region? How's the fishing been for you?

PETE

And Sleigh rides are fun. I have had a Red Fish pull my anchored Kayak around the flats. Boy what fun.

Hi Pete (Vi Fi),
Congrats on the new Outback! It sounds like you've been giving it a good breaking in! I'm from the Ann Arbor area and haven't been out on the GR8 Lakes yet this season but am headed for Lake Superior with my Pro Angler for 3 weeks come mid-July. I just spoke with some of the locals the other day who told me the fishing has been fantastic! EXCITED!!! Hopefully,I'll be posting some good videos soon after I return.
Good luck and be safe out there!
Cheers,
GR8 Laker

PS. I graduated from Hope College many, many years ago and hope to get back out there and do some fishing along the shores of Lake Michigan.
