Hi everone,I'm a new hobie outback owner and first time forum user and i have a question which i hope doesn't sound stupid.
My rudder lever is offset when the rudder is sitting straight which i find annoying but the dealer tells me this is the usual setup that most people prefer so can anybody give me some advice on their preference.

Yes the rudder lever is offset to the right on the last 5 hobie kayaks that I have owned. One time I adjusted the lever to straight and had to put it back since it decreased the throw when turning left. I could turn sharply to the right but was limited to the left. I also found that with the lever offset, my hand position was more comfortable than straight (ergonomic?). After some time, it should feel second nature and you won't give it a second thought.

I used a magic marker to "stripe a line" on the vertical wall ahead of the handle when the rudder is in the middle or centered position.....simple visual solution. :)
