The 2012 YakAttack Charity Fishing Tournament to benefit the Central VA Heroes On the Water chapter was an awesome weekend of fellowship, fishing and fun capped off with an unexpected win. I say that, because my primary role this weekend was helping out at the tournament site and on the water assisting a veteran. This was my first tournament win as a member of the Hobie Fishing Team!!

I had no idea the fish I caught at 7am that morning would hold up all day. In the end, my 19 1/4" largemouth was big enough to win a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 kayak and a YakAttack Park-n-Pole which I promptly gave to my son when I got home later that evening.

Good times!!

I know it's not a Hobie, but at least it gets my son on the water with me in his own kayak until I can afford a Hobie Sport for him.
