Took my son out for a day of fishing with me on Sunday. He had been after me for some time to get him back on the water again. But water temps and winds have been my nemesis lately. Although the winds were a little firm and gusting yesterday, the air and water temps were favorable.

How I spent my Son-day

Tank of gas - $65.00
Snacks for the day - $7.50
Lunch at McDonalds - $7.84
Fishing with my son - PRICELESS!!!

We only managed 3 fish and 3 crabs but it was still a day well spent!!!

Cool report. I hope to get my son out in the back of my outback once the water warms up a bit more. I really do not want him falling into 50 degree water. While the PFD would keep him afloat till I could grab him it would make for a miserable trip. Eventually I am hoping to get an Oasis (once I try one out).

Great job sharing the day and the yak with your son. If you have any more photos of exactly how he is sitting back there I would love to see them. I am trying to figure out exactly how that would work. Is your son in a seat or just sitting in the well?

He is just sitting in the tankwell area on a stadium cushion. You can also take a small, cooler and strap it down or a 2 x 4 with some PVC attached and angled to fit in the rod holders. This would give him a perch without increased elevation significantly affecting primary stability.
