Post subject:  A few bass pics from this morning
Found a small lake near my house that is holding some big fish. It's a spring fed lake and is gin clear. The fishing been pretty good lately with lots of pre dawn fish biting on top water.

These two fish fell for a Castaic swim bait fished along lilly pads over 9-12ft of water.

The sway back spook in a black inshore minnow pattern has been my go to bait for night time fishing.

Once the sun came up it was back to the swim bait and the old reliable frog bite for these!!

None, but I'm not sure why? It's crystal clear, has a max depth of 17 feet, plenty of grass both sub aquatic and lilies. Seems like it should hold them but I can see the bottom anywhere in lake and there are none in there. Plenty of bass, tons of bream, a few small bull head catfish, and a couple carp.

Sweet bass, bro! What camera are you using and what kind of mount? I'm trying to set up an Outback and the pix are always an issue.

The shots of me holding the fish were taken with my Canon Xti DSLR. I have a cheap monopod that I picked up and with the "foot" removed it slides perfectly into the mast hole. Then I just use a remote shutter release to take the pictures. The fish on the measuring board were photographed with a Kodak Playsport that I handheld. I haven't purchased a camera mount yet but I'm looking for something with more of a boom arm that I can mount in my Pro Angler's rear rod tube that would stick out to the side and behind me. That seems like it would be the best angle for video. For hero shots of yourself holding fish I would think the Panfish or Panfish Portrait would be the best bet mounted on either side of the yak forward of the operator.

I didn't even notice the camera on the hatch in the 1st pic! Was too busy looking at the fish! Great idea on the flexi-tripod. Going to have to find a remote for my Canon Rebel xt.

It works very well, but depending on how you angle it you might end up with a whole lot of crotch in your beautiful fish pictures!! :lol: :oops: :lol:
