Post subject:  humminbird transducer choice for Ti

i tried my 798 Si unit on the Ti at the weekend.
Unfortunately the over the side transducer mount i have for the revo just gets pushed up because of the speed.

I was thinking of using an internally mounted transducer and forsaking the side imaging if there is a transducer that work on that basis.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use anything other than the Si transducer?

I don't think it'll work in a shoot-thru-hull configuration.

What you may have to do is fabricate a mount that you can swing up while under strong sail power, and swing down when you're moving slower.

yes tom i have that at the moment but was keen to get some depth readings at speed to avoid running aground. that said i have one solution to try. A string from the bottom of the swing over arm forwards to keep it in place.

cheaper than a new transducer!
here is the revo setup

Humminbird response

"Yes, you can use a regular sonar transducer to shoot thru the hull if a fiberglass hull boat that would provide traditional sonar only. You would use the xp 9 20."

i am going to try the reinforced over the side option first
