After finishing rigging last night i noticed my rudder will not stay in the locked down position when i secure it to the cleat. It will go up and down as before and my steering is ok, but will pop up easily when i lift the rudder. What have i done?. Have i crammed to much stuff i n the hull. Stretched the braid? Nicked it with a bolt? Is this something i can fix myself? Nearest hobie shop is 2&1/2 hours away

So the down control line is not attached? Will not lower the rudder? Maybe wrapped around something and you don't get full lock tension when cleated?

Seems if the down line moves the rudder, you should be able to get tension for hold down.
