I'm ready to update from my 14 year old Outback. I've got my eye on a 2017 Camo.
Of course the dilemma, being this close to 2018 models is...should I wait?
It's difficult to imagine room for very much improvement with the Outback but the creative minds at Hobie never fail to surprise.
How long before we find out?

Maybe consider waiting. A possibility exists Hobie may add a square hatch on the 2018, which is not on the 2017.

I'm now looking at mid August before purchasing so waiting will be easy. 8)

Waiting for rectangular hatch , seems like that could or possible a long wait . It's just a C-Note to buy .

Exactly! When I purchased my wife's 2017 camo Outback I just went ahead and got the square hatch as well as the full Pro Angler H-Rail kit and added both when I got home. Her boat is pretty sweat now and has a three rod horizontal rack mounted on the port H-Rail as well as her side imaging Humminbird unit mounted on the starboard H-Rail with a RAM ball and mount. I couldn't imagine owning an Outback without the square center hatch. It is the access for the 21aH battery that powers all of her accessories and is also invaluable for storing tackle as her "day box".

I picked up a Camo a few weeks ago.
