7.13.13: Me and @dphams1 went out on his Hobie Tandem Islander again, this time the weather cooperated and we made it out to the rigs. Did a beach launch, which apparently he HATES doing. We made it out with no problem. We took the 4 hour drive out to Corpus Christi instead of hitting the Surfside rig. Even though we ended up with only a couple hours of sleep, we made the right call. @dphams1 put me on some freaking fish!!! We caught a total of 3 Kingfish (King Mackerel), a handful of Lane Snappers, a Triggerfish. a small Strawberry Grouper, and a pretty big ray. I was wore out! I hate to talk about the one that got away, but Daniel tells me I had a Cobia. I heard a short run on the drag, not the screaming drag os a King. Then the line went limp and I thought I lost it. Reeled up and felt pressure and set the hook. Then the drag screamed and that fish ran straight to the rigs. We tried to get away from the rig and @dphams1 started paddling hard while I hung on. Then the fish kicked into gear and pulled HARD and broke me off.

A crazy adventure and good time like always.
