I spend from 8-13 hours on the water when I go fishing and get varying degrees of biker rash on my N***. It can be very painful. I can't be the only one getting this. I wear dri-fit compression shorts under my swim shorts. I have also tried vaseline and an aloe gel. Both help but eventually will get washed away. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I used to have the same problem, I ended up making spray skirts for my TI so now almost no water splashes into the cockpit anymore. I also cut up an old pool mattress, one of the 1 inch thick latex foam covered with rubber types (yes they are very expensive, and I did get in trouble for it). But it works perfect, I slide it under the kayak seat, and it raises me up about an inch or so, and my bum now stays much drier.
I used to always wear my swim suit, and always had rash problems by the end of the day. Now I just wear my regular shorts and underwear, and they stay dry, and haven't had any rash problems since. An added benefit of the latex pad is it's way more comfortable, after a few hours of sitting in the standard Hobie kayak seat, my bum would get very sore, the pad helps in that area also.
Hope this helps
Bob

Get rid of the cotton underwear. Go to Victoria's Secret and get a couple pair of silk panties problem solved. Doc Irv told me this would work, haven't tried it myself...

OK, seriously, this is probably too much information, but I wear an athletic supporter and quick drying nylon fishing shorts. Moisture is your enemy, ventilation of the nether regions would help, and swim shorts with mesh liner (no underwear) may do the job.

A small bit of "diaper rash ointment" on the affected area helps akot. The ointment will not wash away as fast as other creams.

On long bike rides (30-75 miles), we use Chamois Butter aka "Butt" Butter. Just Google the name.

It's mini lobster season down here in Florida the next two days, we plan on going out both days and will be out all day in wet trunks all day. Someone said diaper rash stuff would work so I went out and bought a huge tube of A&D ointment, so I will remain baby fresh hopefully all day. However when we go to the manly bar after diving, what the heck am I supposed to say about the baby fresh fragrance, I don't want to get beat up (LOL).

We've made many a stops at Alabama Jacks on Card Sound Road, in the Keys, all slathered up with butt butter and wearing those stupid spandex cycling shorts. The key to survival is to out-drink anyone who challenges you.

You can also try Gold Bond powder. I think it helps a lot.

Try Body Glide - no mess, doesn't stain, and you won't sweat it away. Most running stores have it.

Try a lotion called chamois butt'r. Made for cyclists and sold in bike shops. Same problem, same solution.
