Fishing was excellent. The fish were there and hitting hard all morning long. It was calm and there were few boats in the area. Once again the fish came out to play.
Ended up the day with two Reds and five generous Trout. All fish caught on Topwater.

Nice job on the red and trout. Now that looked to be some perfect water conditions for standing and site fishing. I can't wait to get down there in September!!!!

Noticed you about got a treble hook in your hand when that fish decided to do a self release. I highly recommend you use a net when landing all fish of any size, especially with treble hooks/topwater.

Take a look at the Ego Net with the clear rubber netting.

The Fall Fishing Season is in full swing. This is actually one of my favorite times to hit the Mosquito Lagoon. The weather is cooling off and the water is clearing up slightly.

Left north end of Mosquito Lagoon yesterday (10/23)... Much dead grass and dirty water... four days of fishing yielded 1 slot red, 1 5# flounder and 4 dink trout.

Not to put a damper on this. If you guys are eating your catch, please be very careful and stay informed about the algal blooms hitting the entire IRL. I'm sure you've heard and seen first hand the condition of the IRL. I've sailed there my entire life and it's sad to see the condition of the lagoon. Hopefully with all the upcoming "agency meetings" and community action will get the IRL back on the road to recovery.

The weather is just perfect this time of the year. I went back out this past weekend and the conditions were just right. The fish were also there and willing to participate. Here is a short video from early Saturday morning....

No others caught! Sure didn't seem "just perfect" to me... very disappointing, in fact... But, I'll be back!
