I forgot the idea, don't want to put the legs in water to get something in the hatch...

When I need to reach something behind the seat I have to swing around and put both feet in the water. If I want to use the forward hatch at the bow I am also not going to be able to sit in the seat.

A rectangular hatch is OK for the PA12 but a problem in an Outback? I cannot see the distinction. I do not notice PA12 owners complaining about this rectangular hatch provided and wishing they had a smaller round one instead.

Hello,

I found these hatches: http://www.duckworksbbs.com/hardware/ha ... /index.htm

Three goods points:

- differents sizes ( model DPF1115 seems to be great for Outback )
- there are white ( black hobies curve with the sun)...
- price ( 40.95$ for DPF1115)

Thank you for feedback.

What about the legs when open it?
Do you think a 7.5" deep bucket would fit?

Hobie bucket is 5" deep. The one I want to buy is 4.5" deep.

Can you put a plate 2.5" under it to see if it would fit?

thanks

I was wrong in conversion inches/centimeters, mine is 7,5 deep.

I think it wouldn't fit, as the 7.5 inches your meter show is at the deeper place. It should be less on sides.

Thanks Jdixon...

Do you think there would be any problems standing on the larger rectangular hatch?

I have not fished mine with the new hatch. I left all of the foam in place so it would still be supported.

No problem to stand on this hatch. It is designed for that.

How did you get the bucket to fit??? Mine is to deep and had to cut a lot of corners off the bucket to make it work.
