The power cable for my Lowrance Elite-4 HDI has 2 wires. The second one is an NMEA Data Cable. I am not going to use it, but it's not removable.

Problem is, the plugs provided by Hobie only have 2 holes. I would need 3 (2 for the power cable, and one for the transducer cable).

The only solution I can think of is to cut the data cable near the connector, but that doesn't sound smart. Any better ideas?

One is for the NMEA connection so it can be connected to a VHF radio or other device. Not needed with a kayak. You can cut off all but 3" and tape the end of this wire. Check the instructions so you cut the correct wire.

this might be a little late, but I cut mine about 2 inches down and coated it with that plasti-dip stuff. I did like 3 or 4 coats. Then I ended up taping it to the power wire to look clean. If I thought about it before hand, I would have tried sliding some heat shrink tubing over the 2 wires just to hold them together neatly.

You can pickup an additional thru hull fitting from your local dealer. it will come with all of the adapters needed for different wires. I install the second plug about 2-3 inches away from the other. put transducer wire through one and power/data cable through other.

I also used an additional plub. I just clipped the exposed wires at the end of the outide cover though and sealed them off just in case I want to sell the fish finder and upgrade to a different unit.
