New Outback

Wife just gave me my birthday gift, a new 2016 Outback. Got a blank canvas would love to see some ideas for rigging. Also have an '08 Outback, that suffered from the dreaded mirage drive well crack, will be attempting repair. Gonna move over my micro power pole and install an anchor trolley but would love to see what everyone else has done.

I wonder if my wife would consider getting me an Adventure Island for my 60th next month? prolly not. Anyway, my mods are simple, Hobie crate, with the zip up cover, which I really like. Helix 5 mounted with Ram gear in a Yakattack gear trac. SuperNova Fishing Lights, as we like night fishing on KY Lake. 2 batteries power these and I use those nifty Hobie battery holders. Sailing rudder. Deep bucket in the round hatch in front of seat, may go to the square hatch someday, too busy fishing right now to do it. That's about it.

I dont know whether to congratulate you on the new Outback or the freaking awesome wife. Either way congratulations, your going to love the new seat.

Don't let LtFireman fool you with just doing a little on his kayak, his boat looks great. Last time I talked to him he was going to try to rig up a system that would stop his catch from flopping out of the his kayak before he could measure them. I am looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.

HaHa, I've heard some pretty entertaining ideas , such as dry wall screws sticking up through the Hawg Trough to impail the fish, hope he was kidding. The suggestions I heard that I would actually use, a wet towel to cover and calm the fish prior to snapping pics, and the one I actually used, keeping fish secured with fish grips until getting pics and resecuring with the grips until I check photos. And the death grip while photoing, which can't be good on the fish. Still managed to lose a few.
