I want to mount some green & white LED light strips on the front of my 2014 Outback. I see the forward positioning of my anchor will certainly destroy the light strips. My goal is to have green LED fishing lights but the strip lights look problematic. I could mount an LED array fixture on the bottom somewhere but I know I would shear that off pretty quickly. Is my only choice the drop over the side type LED fishing lights?

Green strip lighting on the bow of your kayak doesn't comply with the U.S. Coast Guard lighting regulations which are applicable to kayaks, will create confusion, and could result in an accident involving you and your kayak. It's sort of like deciding to replace the red tail lights on your automobile with green tail lights. If you want to use a green light for fishing, use one which is submerged, so it is less visible to boats in the area.

If they are mistaken for navigation lights you could be mistaken for a boat not a kayak, and hence capable of course changes rather than as a 'stationary" object. In Australia kayaks should only have a white "anchor" light, guessing elsewhere is the same.
