Will the transducer for the Garmin Striker Plus 4cv fit in the hobie outback lowrance ready pocket? It uses the CV20-TM transducer.

I have the compass and just installed same garmin transducer... it will not mount to the brackets.
I had to cut them down and the transducer hangs somewhat loose but well protected.... and surrounded with water I feel the quality of image is pretty good.
see my post on compass and garmin fishfinder few weeks ago

Thanks RosevilleHobie. Bugger, I saw your post and pics. I don't like the idea of it sticking out. Guess I'll think of another fish finder.

It actually does not stick out of you saw off the plastic structure inside of the transducer plate. I used a Dremel for that.
Works fine for me. Its not exposed and wont get damaged.

The standard striker 4 will fit. There is video on how someone installed the corresponding transducer:

Ah, ok. How are you keeping the transducer in place? Some sort of glue or goop?

actually I was planning to apply some good amount of duct seal to hold it in place.... but tried it first to just sit on it loosely.
I find the sonar picture just fine. I think as long as its surrounded by water and not any air trapped its just fine if it moves a bit.
I think in end the whole kayak moves anyways and whether the transducer moves a bit... the sonar scanning happens darn quickly.
So, I dont get any distorted pictures and can see the fish arches very clearly.
Not too impressed with the clearVu though.... shows structure but don't expect to see any fish. I think quality is not same as the downscan developed by the more expensive brands.
