Couple things on the Hobie live well . (1) intake pipe needs a screen < a dollar store sink screen will fix that . With a piece of shrink tubing to hold it on . (2) tank does no have aeration, fix a piece clear plastic hose with holes drilled in it around the top .

With a total loss live well why would you need aeration? Your changing out the water every few minutes with fresh water from the lake/ocean/river that should be plenty oxygenated already. I fish with Goggle Eyes quite a bit and they are very sensitive and I have never lost bait on the water, except when I flipped my kayak with the bait tank open, but that's another issue altogether.

There’s no harm in having extra in a live well .
