| Post subject: | outback 2019 or pro angler |
please help me choose between an outback 2019 and pro angler. i fish socal's lakes, bays, and open water (LJ). transportation is not an issue because i have a truck. here are some questions: which one is faster? which one is easier to maneuver? which one is more stable? which one would be more suitable for launching on and off the surf? any input would be great! |

I think the biggest questions for yourself to decide is how much stability do you need (outback should be plenty) and how much crap do you bring with you while fishing. The PA will win that I’m sure. I had a 2016 PA used it 3 times sold it and got an outback. I really liked it. I fish for bass in timber and wanted more maneuverability and something that faired better in the wind. The PA was a chore in the wind. I also loaded it down with too much stuff. Haven’t used my 2019 outback yet but as far as room and rigging I think it is my answer between liking the PA and outback. I had a 2016 outback for 2 years after I sold PA to be clear. |

Completely agree with the above- Personally, Ive tried to launch a PA12 in the surf (2-3ft'ers) and wiped out many of times. (user error mostly on the return..... still trying to master the return) The issue Ive always had was flipping it back upright in the water in a timely fashion. Although the Outback is still heavy- It is much easier in my opinion to flip back and get back on. I can't comment on the 2019 Outback. I had the pre 2015 version. Super stable- Although plenty do, I wouldn't stand in it as I could in the PA- At the end of the day it Just depends on what type of fishing you do and whether or not you are able to manage the extra weight of the PA. Cant go wrong with either... That 2019 Outback does look sexy! |

Depends if you talk about 12" or 14" PA. The 12" is not as stable as an Outback, as it rolls a lot... |
