I’ve been trying to figure out what type of blind nut I should use on my kayak. I have no inside access where I would like to install them. The two types of hardware I was looking at was stainless steel jack nuts as well as heat set brass inserts. However I don’t know if the jacknuts would work with the thicker plastic that kayaks have and I don’t know if the brass inserts would be able to hold much weight without tearing out. Any advice is much appreciated and thankyou in advance! |

Not sure what you're trying to install but KayakDYI on YouTube has a video that may give you some ideas on another option. Sorry I'm having trouble getting the YouTube link to cooperate. Here is the website address. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRkCE-G ... dex=2&t=0s I personally would avoid heating the plastic on my kayak unless I absolutely had to. |

Depending on what you're looking to install, the Hobie well nuts are a great option. I wouldn't recommend mounting something to them that puts a huge amount of load on the hull. They are strong enough for anchor trolley installations and sidekick ama kit installations. 8050221 NUT (WELL NUT) 10-32 x1 |
