Post subject:  VHF radio recommendations?

I just discovered that the failing batteries in my old Uniden are no longer available, so time for a new marine radio. Looking for a floating waterproof radio that is small/light enough to wear clipped to my PFD. Anybody have one that you definitely like or hate? Any special features that you wish you had, or that you do have but never use? Thanks in advance.

My uniden cost me 80 on sale.

Works well and has features I need. Lo med high for power. Battery lasts a long time. Its orange and floats. I tether to my pfd because sometimes I knock it off my pfd when moving around.

I like the Cobra Hh125. $50. Waterproof. Comes with rechargeable batteries but can be used with AAA's. I like this particularly because you can throw extra alkaline's in your boat and be ready if your primaries batteries run out. In fact, I never use the rechargeables.

We get an easy 3 miles straight line distance with these and have never had any problems with them.

Thanks for the replies. I checked those units out and ended up going with an Icom M25 that was on sale. I used it yesterday and today. Seems like a good solid unit - battery hardly drained after 10 hrs of scanning, easy to configure, floats, light/sound alarm if it goes into the drink. I'll report back if any regrettable issues arise.
