Had my 2019 Outback 180 ARC Mirage drive serviced under warranty by the local Hobie dealer. They chose to do it in house rather than send it to Hobie proper. The reason I had it serviced is the horrible noise the bearings were making while I pedaled. Anyway I picked it up yesterday and the drive cables seem really tight now with no flex at all. The NyLoc nuts were Loctited with the Blue stuff. I thought the cables had to flex a little to ease up the pressure on the bearings. There is still another year on the Warranty, so I will probably use it as is and if it starts again, have them send it to Hobie.

Personally, I would back the cables off so you can get about 1/8" squeeze with the idler and front, and about 3/16 on the back sprocket. Too tight makes unnecessary friction and accelerated wear. 8)

The Mirage drives require regular owner maintenance including inspection, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting. Would be best to learn and perform these procedures yourself rather than rely on a dealer where you may or may not got someone knowledgeable of the process. Here is a description of chain tightening with a special caution not to over-tighten the chain on 180 drives. This procedure is also described in the kayak manual.
