I have been accustomed to paddling a WS Tarpon with the molded in plastic seat. I took my Big A out for the first time and peddled for about 4-5 miles to get the feel of it and see what I need to do to rig it up for fishing. From time to time, I noticed my seat wanting to slide forward and I kept having to adjust. I played with the straps to sit more upright then more laid back. Made sure the pegs were in the holes, etc. One time I did find the pegs out of the holes. I suppose I will try a single wrap if duct tape on the pegs to make sure they are tight. Anyone else experience the seat feeling like it wanted to slide forward? How did you fix it? Really like the hands free. Am a bit nervous about taking it back in through the surf due to length, mirage drive, and rudder. Probably take it out from a harbor for a while until I am more comfortable with it. |

there have been a few people complain about the seat sliding forward, this is caused by the pegs coming out of the hull, personally I can't get mine out, there stuck in there good. try a piece of electrical tape, that should hold it in there! welcome to the evolved side of kayaking! |

You need to jam them in tighter. Most pegs coming out is from not pushing them in hard enough. Use a dowell and a mallet if needed and seat them tightly. This is a tough balance between easy to remove and something that will stay put. Use the tape idea as a last resort. |

Thanks for the responses. I geuss I will first make sure they are seated in as much as they will go and try it again. I thought I had them in all the way but I have never used a seat like that before and maybe I did'nt. If i get them in there all the way down and it still happens maybe that turn of electrical tape. |

Hi Ya Joe We bring the end of a short piece of a wooden broomstick and use it by hand to tap on the plugs just to make sure they are seated snug in the holes. We have had no problems with any loose seats since doing so. Be sure to check and tighten the seat plug screws every now and then if you notice the plugs are loose in the seat back or can spin around easily. Our plug screws are located under a heavy duty nylon velcro strap which goes over the seat plugs on the side of the seat that faces up when the seat is installed in the boat. ..............Kepnutz |
