Wednesday evening I was scouting around a local lake I had never fished for a car-top put in I had heard about. Once I found that I decided maybe I could put in and paddle around a bit and look for structure and depths I had heard mentioned in conversations at work. Well, I couldn't very easy do that and not take a rod or two so off I went. I found the 40 foot mark I had heard about and followed it around trolling a good trout lure. Had a couple bumps and finally hooked up with a first ever 17" Brown Trout. Boy did he taste good. Because I wasn't originally planning to do any fishing I didn't have my camera but snapped a shot with the cell phone.
Last night I visited another lake that has been good to me in the past for Spring Bass fishing. Caught a couple and dropped a couple BUT the highlight of the evening was a 3lb Smallmouth caught on my light gear. What an acrobat he was.
