Okay. So I embellished the title a little bit.

I actually lost the small halibut at the yak after getting a good look at it after forgetting my landing net. Oops...

So the first video is a pink salmon on an ultralight and my lost halibut.

the second video is one of a sea otter that popped up within 10 yards of me with a big octopus. Too bad I had to dig for the camera, when it first came up, the octopus looked to be a alive and a lot bigger.

Planning to fish the Seward Silver Salmon derby if they allow un-witnessed entries. Trying to put a few folks together!

The very cool world of kayaking. Gotta love it.

Man, That's one tough ultra light rod!! I was expecting it to snap at any moment.

Can't remember the model number but its a 4'6" GLoomis GL2 ultralight rated for 1 to 4 pound test. I've caught a 15 pound king with it. It's my go to rod for pretty much any fish but Kings and sockeyes in either small waters or in the ocean where there is nothing to snag up on. It's my favorite small stream silver & Pink rod. Obviously works great for trout too!

Oddly enough the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that since you can't put as much pressure on a fish, the fish doesn't seem to fight as hard. I land fish almost as quickly with this rod as I do a "normal" salmon rod. Seems kinda backwards, but it seems to be the case.
