I took my brother-in-law Joe out to Estero Bay today. He was fishing in his first kayak, that he got an incredible deal on from Estero River Outfitters. I was using my new Hobie Revo for the first time. We launched at Weeks Fish Camp on an incoming tide and were looking primarily for redfish. We hit the flats and I saw some good water movement all around us. The water was very stained and I think the reds could not see our Gulp shrimp. We worked the flats for a while with no luck, so we moved out to a little deeper water. That's when the fun began! The trout bite came alive and they were aggressive! We boated quite a few and tried to take some pictures, but didn't want to stop fishing! We stayed for a couple of hours and I kept three for dinner. Joe is now hooked and plans on taking his kayak home to fish for Stripers in the Albemarle Sound. A few pics:
