I have an old Tandem Mirage that I bought used a number of years ago which I really, really love. I have a set of the early (inflatable white) Outriggers or Amas..not sure what they're called. I never mounted and would like to mount them. All the Outrigger installation instructions and videos I've seen are for a single, not a tandem boat. This may be a silly question, but I just want to make sure: I would mount the Outrigger behind the FRONT seat, correct? That would be very close to the center of the boat. It seems if they were behind the rear seat they would be too far back.

I thought it would be worth asking before I start drilling holes in my beloved boat!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Don

I would think the more centrally located the better, not to mention accessibility.

Welcome Parrotman.
At 17 years old yours is a very early model Tandem!
We started our Hobie journey with a 2006 Tandem, which was renamed the Oasis a couple of years later.
I fitted Sidekicks to our Tandem just behind the front seat as seen here: https://www.hobie.com/au/en/forums/view ... 5&p=108020
Others though have fitted them behind the rear seat successfully. Kepnutz’s pics are still showing in his posts eg:
