Sailing the Hobie is a blast, I really enjoy it, I am not a sailor but it is easy to get going.

I look forward to using the modifications that Apalach has posted, it seems that will be a big help.

Okay, I did tip over, I wish I read this forum first and I probably wouldn't have.

But for what it is worth, I was in a strong gust and was turning down wind, I do not -think- I shifted my weight to the other side and I was not peddeling, either one probably would have kept me upright, I mostly lost my balance and I let go of the sail, that is what I was holding on to so I fell to my left.

I was concerned it would be hard to turn the boat over, but it was not to bad, at first I just got on top of it while it was upside down, then I held on and rolled it over.

I learned a lot and look forward to getting back out there.

Hey delos,
WTG--that is awesome that you dumped, yet were able to right it by yourself. Some others on the Forum have not been so lucky and/or skilled in getting their boat upright without help. Don't know how I would have done myself in your situation, but thanks for the pointers.

Over the 4th I went sailing with my outriggers installed for the first time, and they really helped a lot. I was concerned that the outriggers might create enough additional drag that they alone might negatively affect stability. But--nevah--hoppen. So far so good...
