Something to watch out for:

I rigged my revo up for a sail for the SECOND time with the sidekicks yesterday and the end fell out of one of the sidekick tubes.
They are glued in (in my case not too well). It is an easy fix, on dry land with a bottle of superglue. But a bit of a fiddle at sea.

So have a check of yours before you venture out.

Otherwise they are very useful. in the lower position I am able to stand up and cast, in not to choppy conditions

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to check mine.

My amas had a piece connector glued to the ends. After one or two uses they disconnected. They used glue very sparingly. I got a tube of marine adhesive 5200 and glued the heck out of them. It looked ugly, too much glue and white on black tubes, but it's in there to stay. Asides from that, I love my amas/sidekicks, they make the yak so much more stable.

I've been using my Sidekicks for over a year now and this finally happened to me (just as I was getting on the water :x). We have a ton of Superglue so I'll see how that works before I head out and get some marine adhesive.

One of mine came loose on the dozenth trip (with sidekicks) or so, but it didn't slide off. Took it out, cleaned it up and gave it a good coat of Marine Goop and it's been OK since.

I'm going to need to look mine over closely. I have two sets for two boats and haven't had any problems, but based on others experiences it sounds like it's just a matter of time.

Great to know. I have noticed my paddle is coming apart due to lack of glue also
