Where is the Lowrance ready cover located on the tandem island and is it possible to add a side scan transducer to the bottom without interfering with loading and unloading the kayak from a trailer. I am wanting to purchase a new tandem island and want to know if it is possible.

The recess area of the Lowrance Ready system is not large enough to accept a side scan transducer.

We have replacement plates for use with the larger transducers, but they leave the transducer on the outside of the hull. This would cause issues when loading on a trailer.

It may be best to use a mount that drops the transducer over the side and can be raised for trailering.

Is the Lowrance ready transducer located under the front seat on the tandem island?

From Kevin in our Fish Department:

Quote:
Currently the Lowrance Ready cavity for the transducer is under the second seat. There should be no problem loading the TI with the Lowrance Ready TotalScan plate. It sits far enough back that the user loading the TI could simply lift the rear up and over the thermoformed cradles.
