I measured the width of my hulls this afternoon to determine how far apart to space the cradles on my new Cat Trax. At the bows the width was 85 1/4 inches. The sterns, measured at the center of the drain plug openings, were 86 1/4 inches apart. Maybe this is insignificant, maybe not. Have any of you found a little bit of toe-in in your hull alignment. Any thoughts on it's affect on speed? Thoughts on fixing it (if it needs to be fixed). I'd appreciate your comments. |

This might not help, but might help explain it...I was reminiscing once with an individual who mentioned that (at least early versions) of H20's required the dealer to locate, drill & tap the hulls to attach the crossbars during dealer assembly (seemed a little strange?) ... you might look at your crossbar widths / locations to check on that... |

Don't give it another thought. The hulls flex more than this when rigged. Sheet in sometime and watch the bows. Then add the load on the leeward hull, daggerboard, and rudder. Add the twist from the loaded shroud (crossbar). The 20 is stiffer than the 16, but there is still a lot of movement. Regardless of all of this, 1" over 20' is nothing. |

Hammond's right. The boat moves quite a bit when even just rigged. But... if you want it perfect. We pull the xbars off and bed them with thickened epoxy and square them like any other boat. Oftentimes, the bracket that holds the xbar to the hull needs to be massaged a bit, they should sit flat on the hulls before the bolts are installed. |

Thanks y'all. I figured there was a good chance I was worrying over something that wasn't a big deal. I doubt I'll go the epoxy route, at least not in the near future. |
