Post subject:  Miscellaneous boat repairs

I'm trying to find the clevis pins that are used on the turn buckle for the spreader wires. I measure the clevis pin as 5/16" in diameter and the working length of the pin is 9/16". I've tried to get these pins from two different shops. Each time I got 1/4" by 1/2" pins instead.

Any ideas on where I might get these pins?

I need to replace them because the head of the pin is slowing being worn down as it rubs against the steel plate that is on the front of the mast.

I also need to replace a few of the plastic eyelets on the rear cross bar for lacing the trampoline. I've notice that after a few years they get brittle and start to crack. Are there any sturdier alternatives to the plastic eyelets?

Lastly, I want to move the cam cleat jaws on the jib blocks up a notch but they're frozen. I'd heard that Harken will repair the blocks? I tried sending them an email asking about repair work and I never received an answer. Is it possible to get the blocks repaired or do I have to replace them?

Thanks,

I replaced those pins on my boat and had no problems because I had the help of a fantastic Hobie dealer. I went through Mariner Sails in Dallas, (800) 536-9463, http://www.mariner-sails.com/. Ask to speak with Aris Tsamis or John Webster. They've got years of Hobie experience and I'm certain they'd have the pins in stock. Typically, if you order before noon, they'll ship the same day.
