Two questions:
Does anyone have any pictures/diagrams of for setting up the cascading downhaul system?
Is there anything to be aware of when moving the rotator above the boom?

You can see the systems from the Wildcat in the parts guide online here:https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/wildcat-part-guide-201705.pdf?_ga=2.245532996.1947164500.1525706207-46684098.1524004451 (page 23 has a very clear diagram) - you can rig a H20 the same. Just need a couple of extra pulleys and cleats on the side of the mast.

Is there a specific distance that those top blocks need to be mounted up the mast?

They aren't mounted on the mast - they're attached to the foot of the main via a shackle - they go down with the sail as it comes down. Look at the diagram. It's very easy to use - you pre-load the double blocks with the larger rope that going into the cleats on either side of the mast. that is a 16:1 system. Works awesome on the Wild Cat and Tiger. I've never rigged one on an H20 but I'm sure other's can chime in.

Class rules prevent more than an 8:1 purchase on the downhaul:
(Hobie 20 Class Rules)
Quote:
3.2 Mainsail downhaul purchase shall not exceed
8:1 purchase. The downhaul line must cleat on
the mast or foot of the sail and may be rigged in
any manner. "Cam" cleats are legal.
