Shroud chain plates and rig tension

So from the “General Rigging and Tuning Guide” it says to start on the second hole from the bottom on the shroud chainplates. We are a pretty heavy crew (about 425lbs by my guessing we don’t go out unless it’s 10-15 knots sustained. Light air in south Florida just means too much sweat and we’ve barely sailed the 20 so we don’t want to bite off more than we ca chew yet. Y’all have any opinions as far as mast rake for a heavy crew and the pretty decent wind?

Similar... rake is good, but the 20 will hold a lot of weight. Still fun in lighter winds.

Mast rake needs to be balanced against your rudder rake, for a nice neutral/ slight weather helm feel.

at 425, you'd likely want to be raked back to the upper rudder gudgeon.

Take a trapeze wire and tie a string, mark or hold string at bow tang, swing from bow tang to the transom. The point that the point hits the transom is your rake. Cats are putting scales on the transom now to measure. somewhere between the gudgeons is appropriate.
