A brief note of caution to all coming to Lake Mead for the Leukemia Cup on April 8-9. 1. Do preregister now, and at least before March 31st. The entry is 50.00 but late is 100.00. They are serious. Let me know if you need an entry form and I will email it to you - [email protected] 2. When you travel to the regatta, after passing through Baker, you will go through a pass or two before descending toward the Nevada State Line. When you see the runaway truck ramp signs you are within a few hundred yards of the exit you should take toward Nipton, CA and eventually Searchlight, NV. This will likely save you an hour or more of backed up traffic which is going to Las Vegas casinos and shows. After you get to Searchlight, NV, go left, north, and proceed until the highway ends and go right. It is a short distance from there to Boulder City, NV, and you will watch for Buchanan light, go left and you will find yourself going down the hill toward the lake. Keep a sharp eye for the left turn that goes toward the lake near the bottom of the steep grade. We should have little flying 'H' signs up along the way.
