Post subject: | old spin recut |
I have an older cut spin and was wondering if it would be worth it to recut it to be more like the newer cut spin. Also where could i get the measurements to give to my local sail repair shop to make sure its cut to match the new cut. Or do i have to measure every panel myself? I ask so I can move my spin blocks up and get rid of the adjusters for one spin to the other. Thanks |

I took a new spin and an old spin to the sail makers shop to see about this same idea. He said it was going to cost at least about 300-400 to make the changes. I did not think it was worth it to make the change. Instead i invested in new spins. I have three old cut Tiger spins if any one is interested. Green, White, and Red |

I have just decided to have new spins made . What I wanted was a practice spin andhad one made aftermarket to sace some $$$. While i have my new hobie spin for division racing now i have one for practice and f-18 racing. If anyone wants new spins that aren't for racing hobie let me know in e-mail. They save about $300 a spin for the new ones. |

We also have 2 spins left from the earlier cut - they are priced @ $650 retail - the have 2 patches instead of three (so they would need to have some new grommets installed for use with a midpole snuffer - or they would work as-is for an end pole) The spis are fluorescent yellow - ask your dealer for info on the Hobie Dud list - they will be able to get them for you. |
