Just crewed for a buddy who has a Tiger. What a rush! Having been a long time Hobie sailor I was curious to sail the Tiger and use the spin. To my surprise the layout of all the sheets are actually less complicated then the 20's. Sailing upwind the boat seemed to be better balanced than the 18 or the 16 and could point like crazy.
I liked the self tacking jib, launching and retrieving the spi, while taking a little practice, was easy. Flying a hull downwind with the spin sheet in your hand was really cool. Maybe if I by him a couple of beers we can take it out again. Too bad these beasts are so expensive. Everybody has to have a dream I guess!

Glad you enjoyed the ride. My first go on a Tiger was a real eye opener as well. I then got my arm twisted by our local cat sailing god to buy one - and have not looked back. It is a joy of a boat to sail, and when you are racing one design against other Tigers there is no going back - you are spoiled for life.

My only wish would be for more wind in Texas where I live - the boat comes alive at 15mph plus.
