Hi guys,
I have an original Hobie Tiger spinnaker for my Tiger which is 19 sq.m. and also spinnaker that I am not sure if it is a tiger spi and I tried in a race. I had measured this new spinnker and althought it is about 21 sq.m. it is lower aspect than the 21 sq.m. tiger spinnaker(about 50cm bigger foot and 25 cm shorter leach).Downwind we weren't very fast in high wind(in low wind we were faster)and eventhought we passed the winward mark first in 2 races, some boats passed us downwind. With the old spinnaker we were not loosing places easily in downwind with this wind and it was smaller than this.Do you believe that aspect difference affects so much the performance in this boat(much for a race and not for leisure)or it was just my bad downwind day?
