I realized I should probably update you guys on how it turned out.
I did the well repair, then glassed the cut-out foam plug back in with a wood clamp I made.
Then I feathered the foam, and filled it with fiberglass.
Sanded and Gelcoated
The gelcoat spray gun was a nightmare(supposedly a $1500 dollar setup, maybe we just didn't know how to use it). However, the gelcoat was not hard to work with at all, so we ended up rolling onto the repairs and are sanding/polishing smooth into the existing factory coat, and that worked great. At some point in the future I'll try to get it all to the same thing. The foils I'm converting to a hard 2-part epoxy paint.
