First please excuse me as I have not posted an introduction post - I have read many of your posts though and found them very helpful. I have been sailing Hobies since 1989 and have recently moved from a H16 to a Tiger.

I am wondering if I can remove the line from the top of the mast that holds the spin block about 2' from the top of the mast and just mount the block on the bridal that mounts to either side of the sail track for the main? Reason is it looks to be redundant to me. I'd be replacing the existing block with a carbo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having that vertical topping line helps to spread the load, if you remove it, over time, the horizontal line will likely fail that's holding the block (going to either side of the luff track)
