Hi guys,

I recently bought a wildcat and have tried it a few times now. I think everything is setup in a correct way but I was surprised on how much wear i get in the snuffer ring when retrieving the spinnaker. Is this normal? Can i do anything to prevent this?
I can imagine that after a few times it will be so worn down that edges appear where the spinnaker will get stuck.

Thanks in advance.

McLube (or equivalent dry silicone spray) is your friend.
Particularly around the 'mouth' of the spinnaker ring.

We will lube the mouth every two weeks or so, and also the spin itself about once a month.
You want the retrieval to be slick and smooth, you should not be 'fighting' the spin.

On a good day of racing, the 'raise' takes my crew about 8 seconds, the 'retrieve' about 10 seconds......
not counting prep time.....
