Almost everyone now is using a mid-pole snuffer. I still have an end-pole system and am perfectly content with it.

Also, this http://www.gobarefootstudio.com/snu.html is a cool system, but not class legal.

OH contrair monfrair :x

The SNU is one of the most highly regarded systems being used in the Tiger Class. At least on the West Coast.

Highly regarded because it works. And it's totally class legal.

OK, now I'll open myself up to being corrected if I'm wrong on this. So, feel free to educate myself, and the other SNU owners...

sorry typed that wrong, the snuffer can be anything... the pole must be from Hobie. Ergo, it is legal.

I've noticed you boys out west are all about the SNU. I've yet to see one this side of the coast though; I plan on getting one when I have a reason to replace the trumpet.

I was so ready to be upset if that turned out to be true!

I love the SNU. :D

Yea Karl, that's me. I'm the one on the trapeze. Just in case you thought I was the smaller one...

i tried the stock hobie mid pole and my 100 lb wife said no more spin for her. Switched to the SNU AND SHE LOVES FLYING IT! , thanks to the snu i get to drive and she's pulling the spin. she loves the set up and i like that you don't have to drill the pole to put it on. its about $375 and dennis is a tiger sailor so he's one of us. its a flatter opening with a wide mouth and a smooth fiberglass upper. the sail rides in very smooth and the flat design cuts a little windage. i recomend this over the stock system.

Depends - are you the one who was asking for a mirror to make sure your hair still looked good mid-regatta? :P

Seriously now, look at my hair.
Do I look like I use a mirror?

For the record: That was Megan; who will now be crewing for me on the Tiger. And if she wants a mirror on the boat, I'll find a way.
