I have noticed that alot of teams are using line to attach the main blocks to the ring on the sail. Is this the prefered method am i not supposed to use the strap on the sail?

Some do - it will reduce the amount of sheet on the deck and it reduces the pressure on the boom (apparantly)

But in reality you will need all that room to really sheet in hard.

I did it for a while but went back to using the standard strap attached to the clew.
