Hi Folks,

As some of you may know it seems Hobie Cat is phasing out of the sail making business. Sails are no longer available for the 17 and for the 20. !8's will probably be next.

Al national group of us have been discussing and researching other possible lofts to make authorized sails. We has identified Whirlwind Sails as the best qualified so far for the following reasons:

The owner was the former loft manager for Hobie.
He has the patterns
He has the experience with Hobie sails
They will be made in the US. No shipping problems. (have you seen all the ships in LA waiting to unload?
He is now making a prototype to be tested at the Mid Winters in Mississippi in April

Phil Collins has asked me to send survey our Division and let everyone know about what is developing.

IHCA seems to be favoring another loft that does not meet the same standards as WhirlWind.

We need support for WhirWind. There will be a preliminary vote at the Mid Winters next month. If want to be represented our
Division leaders should contact Phil before the Mid Winters please call or text Phil at 405-641-6414
