Ocean Sailing with a Sandy Beach Thrown In Jericho is the perfect place to host a regatta. It has a large staging area for boat set up, a long sandy beach with two boat ramps, a club house with showers and washrooms, plus a balcony restaurant with beverage service. On the race course, the ocean delivers everything you need to practice tactics involving tides, current, wave surfing the rollers, variable winds, and a big course. Fleet 214 members will be in the Jericho Sailing Center compound to greet you late in the afternoon on Friday. All guests are very welcome to this public facility and onsite staff will be fully aware of Hobie sailors rolling in for the weekend. If you are coming up on Friday night (June 20), take time to bring your boat into the compound and set up the mast and rigging. Then head up to the balcony for a pitcher and wings while the sun sets over Bowen Island. Normal temperatures for mid June are 20C or 72F during the day and 15C or 65F in the evening. Racing will be held on Saturday and Sunday -with hopeful awards around 3pm. Check the NOR for an exact time schedule. After racing on Saturday, appy's will be served in the compound picnic area while you de-rig your boat. Afterwards, the Saturday night diner will be served outside or inside the galley depending on weather conditions.
