The Hobie16 Norht Americans are over. It was a great event with excellent participation. Speaking for the HCANA I would like to thank and congratulate ALL the participants in the Womans, Youth and open events. You made it happen. The level of performance, the willingness to come back after dishartening setbacks, the Hobie spirt exemplified. THANK YOU

Just back from the event and I can not say enough good things about the organizing committee and CORK.I had a chance to sail with my Daughter and the experience will be unforgettable.I have never felt so safe on the water, the CORK team are proffessionals. From making sure you got on the water,to getting you water and back to shore safely these guys are the best.
Just a thought on the conditions. We ended the series with 12 races. We raced every day and were off the water by no later then 4:30.The condition's ranged from light to moderate.Every day (with the exception of Wed.) there was some trap work.Friday's condition's can best be described as champian type sailing,12-14 knts, sun, waves and steady wind. While sailing around the course Friday I could not help but smile (and hoot and holler) a few times as I sailed upwind with 54 of these twin hulled dart's where all rocketing upwind with two on the wire.
Thanks again to everyone responsible for putting together this World Class Event. :D

We did not race, however I want to add what Mike said, and tell you all what we saw and experienced in Kingston.

(We had booked a family holiday in Europe BEFORE I saw the NOR, and changing a bunch of airtickets etc was not do-able, otherwise we would have raced at CORK.)

On our return from Europe, as soon as we could, we drove the 210 km from Ottawa to Kingston, and 'visited' with so many of you on the lawns after Thursdays races. Although we'd never met in person, we know your names from the Hobie Forum, and from chatting on emails. We wanted to meet as many of you good people as we could. Our expectations were surpassed, and it was great to shake hands and shoot the breeze with Matt B, Megan B, Mark M, Sandra T, Tom K and family, Jim #335 G, Bruce & Bill from Carp, and others whose names escape me.

As we drove back to Ottawa that same evening, my wife, Laura, smiled and said how lucky we were to meet such 'sharing', sociable, and sportsmanlike folks. I wonder if I can talk her into attending Havamega?
