quick noob question

is there any racing going on on the east coast of the US? i skimmed through whatever schedules i could find and came up with nothing as far as hobie racing over here. i'm in VA and would expect to have to travel to norfolk or even annapolis to find some racing if there is any at all.

Not sure about the Virginia area. There is very active racing in Division 11 (PA, NJ, DE, MD) if you're willing to make the drive.

I would check on the hca-na.org site to see if you can get in contact with someone from Division 9 (which includes virginia). There is no direct contact listed which leads me to believe there isn't much HCA sanctioned racing going on in your neck of the woods (might have to race handicaped in a mixed cat fleet). You can also check the schedules listed on catsailor.com as they list all catamaran events, not just HCA races.

right on. thanks much. i figured most of the action would be a good bit north of me. oh well. now i'm kinda thinking: spend a little and race a laser locally, or spend a lot and race a hobie 5 hours away... haha maybe after college. i'll check the schedules out though that you recommended. anything can happen. thanks again.
